Murray Cottage

Originally a modest 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom home, Murray Cottage underwent a thoughtful country-style renovation designed to honor the character of the existing home while significantly improving functionality, comfort and livability.

This transformation included extensive structural and unseen works, including full re-stumping, upgraded insulation and careful restoration of the original weatherboard exterior. Small extensions beneath the existing rooflines were strategically designed to maximise storage and improve everyday practicality without compromising the home’s original footprint or charm.

Inside, the home was completely reimagined with a custom country-style kitchen, laundry and mudroom package featuring shaker-style joinery, integrated storage solutions, stone benchtops and timeless finishes throughout. Soft neutral tones, plantation shutters and layered textures were used to create a warm and inviting interior that feels both relaxed and refined.

Externally, the restored timber decking and refreshed façade reconnect the home with its rural surroundings, creating a welcoming country homestead aesthetic that sits naturally within the landscape.
